Overview

The IsoCap V-1c has been designed to provide high-quality isolated differential voltage measurements for aplications requiring scaling of high voltages, as well as superior isolation.
The input has its own isolated reference, and can be configured to suit user needs. The output signal from the IsoCap unit is referenced in respect to the ground channel of the user’s data acquisition system.
Designs its IsoCap V-1c modules with consideration for user great flexibility, and low power consumption.

Hardware description

The IsoCap V-1c module is designed to isolate and scale down high voltages found in industrial enviroments. The end result is a signal ready to connect to any data acquisition system.
The IsoCap V-1c’s signal input has surge protection circuitry, the operation amplifier converts the input signal to ±10V range, The modulator converts this analog input signal into a digital bitstream that is transferred across the isolation barrier. On the low-side, the received bitstream is processed by a fourth-order analog filter that outputs a differential signal. The operation amplifier with an anti-aliasing filter outputs ± 10V. The following diagram depicts the signal processing above.

- The isolation barrier of every device is tested with a 5 second partial discharge of 1800 V for 5 seconds, with a detection threshold of 150 pC
- Withstanding common mode surge voltage is 2 seconds half sinewave.
- Withstanding differential mode surge voltage is 4 seconds half sinewave.
